Introduction:
MKCL has tied up with BSNL and
Divinet Technologies to provide multiplay services over
normal telephone lines to BSNL Broadband subscribers
Services offered:
The following Services are provided through BSNL’s
multiplay service:
1. Digital Satellite
Television: A number of satellite TV channels are
provided through this connection. Which includes a range
of all News Channels, all cable channels.
2. A good collection of Hindi, English and Regional
(Marathi) movies is kept in NOC’s(Network Operating
Center) database. A user can watch any movie of his/her
choice and when he/she wants. No time constraints for
watching movies.
3. Since it is a ADSL connection a user can
simultaneously surf broadband internet connection or
talk on the phone while he/she enjoys watching the
programmes on TV
4. The subscriber can listen to 14 FM Audio channels
which are broadcasted through this service
5. Many educational programmes are being run for people
of various age groups, profession and gender. A user can
participate in these programmes by connecting his/her
personal computer with the ADSL router or by connecting
a web camera and keyboard directly to the WICE box from
his home.
6. Other services include sending SMS through TV,
participating in networking games are also offered
Technology:
ADSL2+ is used to provide last mile data deliver. A user
has to install a ADSL router with splitter and a WICE
box. The connection from local loop is terminated on the
splitter from where connection goes to the ADSL router.
A user can just connect WICE box to its TV input and
he/she can enjoy a whole range of service through only a
single connection
